The local growing conditions
Optimum soil and climate conditions
For six months of the year, KIWIS grow in the South of France which has a mild and humid climate with rich alluvial soils. Out of season, kiwis are grown with the same know_how in the Province of Curico, on the deep soils of the Chilean Central Valley, between the Andean Cordillera and the Pacific Ocean, thus guaranteeing the year-round availability of the Oscar brand.
APPLES orchards are cultivated on sunny parcels of land in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
ASPARAGUS and SWEET CORN grow on local growing conditions, or terrain, which is typical of the Gascony Landes region with its sandy soils. This geographical location favours early production and the quality of the soil promotes straight and optimum growth in the vegetables.
The PIMENT D'ESPELETTE AOC (ESPELETTE CHILLIES, registered designation of origin) is cultivated by producers in France's Basque Region in the Appellation area which enjoys a mild microclimate in summer and has high, well-distributed rainfall.
